Last year the Port Angeles Community Players put on a private evening of live theater entertainment just for the Esprit crowd. Once again, the Players are putting on a private show just for Esprit. This year's play is: NUDE WITH VIOLIN, a comedy by Noel Coward, directed by Pat Owens.
Set in Paris in 1954, NUDE WITH VIOLIN opens after the death of the famous artist Paul Sorodin. Various greedy relatives and hangers-on converge on his studio, hoping for financial gain. Instead, they find a letter in which the late artist admits he never painted so much as a single brushstroke in his life. What's more, the actual artists turn out to be a rather motley crew, including a jolly barmaid and a Jamaican Seventh-Day Adventist. Much confusion, farce and fun follows. It will be a fun night with a hosted reception at the Good To Go Natural Grocery just before the play with beverages and pastries, followed by the play with more snacks and wine by the glass for sale, and then the legendary after-party with the cast at a favorite downtown watering hole...probably Michael's again, but stay in touch with the giddy players after the show and follow the crowd. Please plan on gathering in the Registration Area to join carpools as we do not plan on providing a constantly-running shuttle this year. Good To Go Natural Grocery is at 1105 S. Eunice St., on the corner of Lauridsen, just down the road from the theater. (map) On Thursday, it's your chance to paint the town! |
